Come learn about International Baccalaureate and Advanced Placement programs in DC area high schools. A panel of school representatives will be discussing the advantages and requirements of these programs for U.S. and international students.
Speaker Dr. Jay Bass, who has over 30 years of experience in public schools in metro DC and is currently the Director of Counseling at Wootton High in Montgomery County, MD, will present on “Navigating the Public School System.” This lunchtime seminar is an introduction to the U.S. Public School System for international parents. Dr. Bass will present an overview of the various types of academic programs offered by local public schools and how to apply to each. He will also lead an interactive discussion on “The role of parents as advocates for their child’s education” and “How parents can get involved and participate in their school’s PTA and other programs.” The session will conclude with questions and answers.
