As we transition into March, we take a moment to reflect on the remarkable progress of the past months and express our heartfelt appreciation for your unwavering dedication and enthusiasm. Your commitment to excellence has been instrumental in our recent successes, and we are incredibly proud of what we have achieved together.
This month let’s embrace the renewed energy of spring and build our momentum. With exciting new initiatives on the horizon, your input and innovative thinking will be crucial in driving us forward.
We remain committed to developing initiatives that empower and support dual-career couples and spouses in career transition. Our ‘Careers at World Bank’ Workshop in February was a tremendous success, offering invaluable opportunities for professional growth, voluntarism, and networking. We are grateful to the organizers, our speaker, and participants who made this event fruitful and inspiring.
Looking ahead, we are thrilled to announce our upcoming Open House event, a celebration of the rich cultural diversity within our community. This vibrant gathering will showcase our unique heritages, traditions, and cuisines. We encourage all members to participate and share their cultural stories, making it a truly enriching experience for everyone. Stay tuned for more details coming next month.
Another highlight this month is the Children's Art Prize, an initiative that recognizes and nurtures the creative talents of our youngest members. The submissions so far have been extraordinary, and we eagerly anticipate the announcement of the winners. A special thanks to all the children and their families for their enthusiastic participation.
We commend the incredible efforts of our ‘Volunteering within the Community’ initiative. Last month, our volunteers had a successful event serving lunch at SOME, making a meaningful impact through their selfless contributions. Their dedication fosters a spirit of solidarity and compassion, reinforcing our commitment to giving back. We encourage everyone to continue supporting these noble causes.
In February, the call for Executive Committee (EC) and Nominating Committee (NC) candidates was issued. These volunteer positions have a term of 1-2 years. EC members provide leadership to ensure that WBFN objectives, services, and programs meet the evolving needs of its members, while NC members are responsible for screening, interviewing, and selecting qualified candidates for the EC and NC. Interested members can apply by emailing or visiting the WBFN website. The application deadline is March 6th.
In closing, we extend our deepest gratitude to each of you for your continued support and active involvement in the World Bank Family Network. Together, we are building a stronger, more vibrant community.
