Services:

The Family Consultation Service (FCS) provides short-term counseling, between one and three sessions, each of which may be 50 minutes in length. You may be seen virtually or at our WBG office or our off-site office. We do not prescribe medications, nor do we provide long-term psychotherapy. It may become clear that lengthier counseling or other services are indicated, and if so we will develop a plan at that time which will likely include a referral to a local professional. Fairly often, it becomes apparent to us that other services within the various organizations would be useful and, with your permission, we make internal referrals to those resources.

Eligibility: WBG and IMF staff, spouses/partners and dependents, over the age of 21 years old, are eligible for services at headquarters (DC metro area) and in country offices.

Many of our families reach out to the FCS to get help for:

  • Personal and marital issues
  • Children’s emotional adjustment
  • Stress, depression or anxiety
  • Alcohol and drug abuse
  • Family or work issues
  • Legal Problems
  • Divorce and Separation

You need not face it alone. Call 202-458-5550 or email familyconsultationservice@wbfn.org.

*There is no charge for using a Family Consultation Service counselor. However, If additional help is needed, you will be referred to an appropriate resource in your community. Ask if these referred services are covered by your family medical insurance.
