From the Presidents' desk—April 2023

Dear Member,

It’s officially spring in the Northern Hemisphere, often a time of fresh starts and renewal. The WBG Family Network is embracing the spring theme with a suite of renewed activities. In March, nearly 100 Family Network members, WBG partners, and officials in DC celebrated our cultural backgrounds and engaged in enriching conversation at our relaunched annual potluck, Many Flags One World.  Starting February and running into early March, Laurence Telson, WBG Program Coordinator for the Domestic Abuse Prevention Program (DAPP), visited Kenya, Tanzania, and Ethiopia and shared with WBG Family Network spouses and partners the content of the DAP Program and resources available to them.  We appreciate Laurence’s partnership, providing outreach support through global in-person sessions.

On April 3rd we are launching a very exciting, new online resource, Tools To Move (TTM). Watch for the TTM announcement and link information! Also coming back this month are our very popular Get-togethers in Washington, DC. Look out for more details. In addition, we are preparing for our upcoming hybrid Annual Meeting on May 11th and the much-anticipated relaunch of our Annual Dinner on May 23rd.

As our flagship events return after a three year long pandemic closure and new events start, WBG Family Network is also looking towards the future. The Family Network Executive Committee recently completed a multi-step strategic planning process, resulting in a focused Strategic Road Map for FY23-25. We look forward to your participation in the Annual Meeting, as we share FY23 accomplishments and key focus areas ahead.

Kind regards,
Sara and Mary
