Dear WBGFN Member,
For most of us, you must be loving the collage of colors with a rustic glow across the foliage – Autumn is a second spring when every leaf is a flower!
For members, families, and their friends in the DMV, yes, they’re back! The main fundraiser for Margaret McNamara Education Grants (MMEG), the International Arts & Crafts Fair, returns to the World Bank HQ at 1818 H St NW, on November 1, 2, and 3, from 10 am to 5 pm daily. Dozens of vendors will be selling a range of unique items from around the world. Come shop for holiday gifts or treat yourself—and help educate extraordinary women from developing countries. This is the moment to make that extra effort and go the extra mile. Your generosity will make a huge difference to the women seeking grants for higher education.
Following WBG requirements, we will all show proof of vaccination and wear a mask during the Fair. Please also note that a vaild ID is required for entry. For queries contact an MMEG team member at: info@mmeg.org or visit MMEG.org
WBGFN’s much anticipated Children’s Holiday Party is coming back to the MC Atrium at HQ on December 10 from 2 pm to 5pm. We would be revising the number of attendees this year as the ‘new normal’ sets in. Look out for more information on how to register and other details for the day.
As the World continues to evolve with new encounters rising ever so often around us, we are proud and inspired by the way our organization has risen to this challenge - with flexibility, resilience, courage, and a caring heart. Thank you for your enormous contributions by means of giving time and sharing your valuable experience. For those still unsure, it’s never too late to pick up the phone or send us an email to become active members and assist in building a stronger and more impactful global WBGFN!
As Winston Churchill stated, “We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.”
Have a giving month of November!
Kind regards,
Sara and Mary
