WBG Health and Safety Directorate - General Advisory:
The list of medical providers that is shared is primarily to inform staff and dependents of some of the options that can be considered when they are seeking medical care. HSD does not endorse medical facilities or individual doctors. Staff are encouraged to reach out to HSD for assistance as needed. HSD strongly advises all staff and dependents to reach out to the SAR Hub team members (or other HSD colleagues) in all cases where:
- Admission for in-patient care is required.
- Surgical intervention for diagnostic (such a Colonoscopy) or therapeutic care is recommended by the treating Physician.
- Diagnostic or Treatment failure occurred, or uncertainty exists.
- A referral to a local Specialist is indicated.
- Any other uncertainty or concern regarding the level of care received.
This is in addition to all medical emergencies where staff are advised to activate the local medical emergency response plan including activation of the Security Operations Center (SOC) and coordination with the local MERC as needed. This approach is designed to provide the best coordinated support, including HSD, to staff experiencing a medica emergency. Due to the detrimental effect that delay in medical care can have on the outcome of medical cases, HSD advises that staff reach out to HSD as soon as possible when any concerns are encountered. Staff are generally encouraged to reach out to HSD whenever they have any uncertainties regarding the diagnostic process, or the level of medical care being provided to them or their dependents. HSD can, on a case-by-case basis, provide support and guidance to staff as needed
