HSD’s Health & Wellness team, in collaboration with the National Capital Area Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association, invite you to virtually attend an “Understanding Alzheimer’s and Dementia” webinar.
Alzheimer’s is not normal aging. It’s a disease of the brain that causes problems with memory, thinking and behavior. Aaron Schulman will discuss the impact of Alzheimer’s, the difference between Alzheimer’s and dementia, Alzheimer’s disease stages and risk factors, current research and treatments available, and Alzheimer’s Association resources.
The webinar will be a 45-minute presentation, followed by a 15 minute Q&A session.

Our Speaker:
Aaron Schulman has been a volunteer Community Educator for the Alzheimer’s Association for the past 3.5 years. He provides presentations to community organizations in the National Capital Area on topics such as the warning signs of Alzheimer’s and related areas. He is also a member of the Alzheimer’s Association National Volunteer Advisory Committee. He retired in 2018 after 35 years as a senior government and commercial sector strategy consultant. Aaron also volunteers as crisis suicide hotline worker, part of the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline. He was a Director and previous COO of Toffler Associates, a strategy advisory firm where he worked for the past 18 years before retiring. He received his master’s degree from Harvard University in organizational change, and his bachelor’s degree in psychology from The American University.
